Originally created by GEL-LYTE™ III designer, Shigeyuki Mitsui in 1995, the GEL-MC PLUS™ sneaker returns from the ASICS running archive with a reimagined midsole design. Evolving the upper with a leather and mesh construction, this shoe emphasizes the notion of “Motion Control,” featuring its nylon midfoot strap on the medial angle that helped runners in the 90s reduce pronation. Technical for its time, we redesigned the midsole with the GEL-CUMULUS® 17 running shoe tooling to evolve the design’s retro aesthetic while improving its cushioning.
Retro running model derived directly from the 1985 sports catalogue, reproduced using an artful mix of nylon and suede, which are the same materials used for the original upper. Characterised by an E.V.A. shock-absorbing midsole which guarantees maximum comfort.
